SBI Ripple Asia, the partnership between Ripple and SBI Holdings, will be speaking at the 2018 Spring Meeting Program at the Japan Society of Monetary Economics (JSME). The topic will be ”Next-Gen Payment Network Powered by Blockchain Technology” presented by Takashi Okita, current CEO of SBI Ripple Asia. Mr. Okita has vast experience with digital payment service companies.

Interestingly, SWIFT will speak right before Mr. Okita on the subject of ‘Global Payments Innovation’ presented by Hiroshi Nakatake representing MUFG Bank.

The meeting is part of the International Finance panel session held between 10am and 12pm on Sunday May 27th. Every year JSME organizes a meeting in Spring and another in Autumn. The next Autumn meeting will take place in Nagoya City University on October 20 and 21, 2018. You may submit a request to speak at the next meeting on JSME’s website.


More about Takashi Okita

Mr. Okita has worked with SBI Holdings for a long time in different positions, notably being the Representative Director and CEO of VeriTrans, a child company of SBI Holdings at the time. VeriTrans provides electronic payment processing solutions to individuals and corporations.

Mr. Okita was the youngest Representative Director in Japan while he worked at VeriTrans.
